Journey Clinical Supports the following KAP modalities:
In-Person KAP
In-Person KAP is conducted at your office. Dosing sessions are normally approximately 2-3 hours. Your client should pre-arrange to have safe transportation home from the appointment. After taking ketamine, they cannot drive or operate machinery for at least 12 hours. Your client will still need to obtain their vitals before and after the treatment, and can read them to you so that you can input them into the Journey Clinical KAP log.
Remote KAP
You will be present over Zoom for the duration of the dosing session (approximately 2-3 hours), while your client is in their home. You will act as the chaperone and stay on the video call throughout the entire session. Your client will still need to obtain their vitals before and after treatment, and can read them to you on the video call. Your client will still have preparation therapy session leading up to the dosing session, and integration therapy sessions between dosing sessions.
Self-Guided KAP
Self-guided KAP is similar to remote KAP, but the member therapist is not actively present during the dosing session. Instead, you, as the therapist, will need to check in with your client before AND after the session via text or phone. These brief check-ins can still be billed to your client, since your time will be required.
This modality is scheduled in advance, and still includes preparation before the appointment as well as integration work afterwards. Your client must have a pre-arranged chaperone who is fully present with your client for acute monitoring. The chaperone must visually check-in with your client every 15 minutes and should be someone they trust and are comfortable with. They can assist with comfort measures and escalate any concerns as needed. The client will still need to record their vitals before and after treatment, and will relay them to you during their check-ins pre- and post-dosing session.
If a client is interested in self-guided KAP, the first step is to discuss this modality with their therapist. We understand that not all therapists offer this modality; you will determine together if this modality is right for you and your clients. You do not need approval from our medical team to do self-guided sessions.
