On January 1st, 2026, Journey Clinical will be making adjustments to our KAP Didactic training. As part of this transition, Journey Clinical members will no longer have access to the current mandatory KAP Theory & Methodology course (a component of the required KAP Didactic training curriculum) and the Psychedelics Premise & Promise course (an optional course available for CE credit).
This primarily affects Journey Clinical members who have not yet completed their KAP Didactic training requirement. Those affected will lose their course progress on January 1st, and should either complete the training by December 31, 2025 or be prepared to be enrolled in a new course on January 1, 2026. The time commitment of the new course (~6 hours) and CE credits (5 hours) will remain the same. The new course is delivered in partnership with the Integrative Psychiatry Institute (IPI).
If you’ve already finished the Didactic training requirement, there are no new requirements for you. However, you will no longer be able to access the following two courses: KAP Theory & Methodology and Psychedelics Premise & Promise. If you’ve completed them, please download your certificates to keep them for your records.
The “Journey Clinical Therapy Protocols” course will be unaffected by this change. If you have completed the “KAP Theory & Methodology” course within the Didactic Training phase to 100% completion, you may continue completing the protocols training, without disruption.
Progress & Transition Timing
What happens to my didactic training progress on January 1st?
On January 1, 2026, Journey Clinical members will no longer have access to the mandatory KAP Theory & Methodology course (a component of the required KAP Didactic training curriculum, and the Psychedelics Premise & Promise course (an optional course available for CE credit).
Since the KAP Theory & Methodology course is a required step in our KAP Didactic Training, your progress in this course will be lost on January 1, 2025, and you will instead have access to the new KAP Theory & Methodology curriculum launching the same day.
The Journey Clinical Protocols course is unaffected by this change, so if you complete the “KAP Theory & Methodology” course (100% completion) before 12/31/25, your completion will fulfill the requirement, and you will be able to move on to the JC protocols course.
I completed the KAP didactic training. Do I need to retake the training?
No. If you have completed Journey Clinical’s didactic training, you do not have to retake the new training. The new curriculum is optional.
I completed the “KAP Theory and Methodology” Course, but not the “Journey Clinical Protocols” course. Will I lose my progress?
No. The Journey Clinical Protocols course is unaffected by this change.
If I haven’t finished, do I have to start over?
Yes — if you have not completed the “KAP Theory & Methodology” course by December 31, 2025, you will begin the new IPI-supported curriculum from the beginning. Progress from the original KAP Theory & Methodology course is unable to be carried over.
What are my options if I haven’t yet completed my KAP didactic training?
You have two options:
- Finish the “KAP Theory & Methodology” training by December 31st (recommended if you want to gain the ability to refer clients for KAP), or
- Allow your progress to reset and start fresh with the updated curriculum on January 1st.
Both options meet Journey Clinical’s training requirements — choose what works best for your schedule.
CE Credits
Will I get fewer CE credits with the new training?
No. The new didactic program provides equivalent CE credit hours to the previous course.
How many CE hours does the KAP Theory & Methodology course offer now?
The new training will be eligible for 5 CEUs (this has not changed).
Course Access & Certificates
Will I still be able to revisit the old modules after January 1st?
No. On January 1st, 2026, you will no longer be able to access the following two courses: KAP Theory & Methodology and Psychedelics Premise & Promise 2025—including for clinicians who completed the course.
The affected content includes:
- The mandatory KAP Theory & Methodology course (a component of the required KAP Didactic training curriculum).
- The optional Psychedelics Premise & Promise course.
How do I export or save my old certificates?
Before December 31, visit your KAP Didactic Training Learning Module and open “KAP Theory and Methodology.” From the course dashboard, you can download your certificates through the “My Account” page. We recommend saving them to your professional records or CE tracker.
If you also completed the optional Psychedelics Premise & Promise course, please download that certificate as well before your access to the platform ends.
If I forget to download my certificate, can I get it later?
Unfortunately, no. Certificate retrieval will no longer be available. Please download any needed documentation before December 31, 2025.
For New Journey Clinical Members (Joined in December)
I joined in December — should I rush to finish now or wait for the new training?
Both options are completely valid. If you have time and want to move quickly into experiential training, you’re welcome to complete the current 6-hour program by December 31.
If not, there’s no downside to starting with the new curriculum on January 1 — it’s robust, comprehensive, and includes updated content.
Is the content of the training changing?
While the modules will be different, the topics covered in the training content are similar, designed to equip you with the knowledge to offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) in your practice. The new curriculum is built in partnership with the Integrative Psychiatric Institute (IPI), a well-established and respected education provider. It covers all required KAP foundational concepts and includes updated material that reflects current clinical best practices.
Related FAQ: Does Journey Clinical provide certification in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)?
There is currently no nationally recognized or officially accredited certifying body for Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). Because no governing organization exists, there is also no formal or standardized credential called “KAP certification.” Training organizations may offer their own certificates upon completion of their programs; however, these do not represent an official certification.
At Journey Clinical, we do not provide KAP certification. Instead, we support licensed clinicians in safely and effectively integrating ketamine-assisted psychotherapy into their practice through:
- Clinical training and education
- Access to our medical team for prescribing and medical monitoring
- Ongoing guidance, community support, and resources
We aim to equip clinicians with the knowledge, tools, and medical partnership needed to deliver high-quality, evidence-based KAP.
Future Training & Content
Will I still have didactic training materials to refer back to after January 1st?
Yes. All members will have ongoing access to the new didactic materials in your Journey Clinical portal. These can be revisited at any time.
Will this delay my ability to refer clients for KAP?
Only if you do not complete the didactic training by December 31. If you finish the current course by year-end, you can continue referring clients without interruption. If not, you will need to complete the new curriculum starting in January before referring your clients.
Is experiential training changing too?
No changes have been announced to experiential training. Only didactic content is being updated.
Will pricing or membership requirements change?
No. This update does not affect pricing or membership eligibility.
Will I still get support from my Journey Clinical coach?
Absolutely — your coach will continue to support you throughout the transition and throughout your clinical journey.
