Medication Management Overview:
Journey Clinical is proud to offer full psychiatric medication management. This means that beyond KAP, Journey Clinical supports your clients' mental health holistically, including evaluating and prescribing all psychiatric medications, even if they are not eligible for, or interested in, KAP. Journey Clinical acts as their primary psychiatric provider and will share information about your client's care directly with you, further strengthening our collaborative care model for the highest possible quality client care.
Who can do Medication Management?
Clients who wish to work with a medical provider to monitor, taper, or adjust psychiatric medications may elect to enroll in Medication Management. This can be done without KAP, or in addition to KAP treatment. If you know that a patient is interested in Medication Management, you may include this in the referral.
What types of medications can be prescribed?
In addition to Ketamine, general psychiatric medications including common antidepressants (e.g., SSRIs, SNRIs, TCAs, MAOIs, atypical antidepressants) other anxiolytics, mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, additional agents, benzodiazepines, stimulants, and hypnotics.
The Before / During / After Concept of Medication Management
If your client is doing KAP, they can add on medication management for no extra cost. If you have a client considering KAP you might mention medication management as a service they may wish to use before (to get to know the clinical team, help our clinicians understand their psychiatric and medical history), during (for continuity of care and to allow our clinical team to keep a very close eye on any adjustments that need to be made to other medications for patient safety and efficacy), and after (to adjust dosing and medication required after a full round of 6-8 KAP dosing sessions) KAP.
Cost to your Client:
Medication management is covered by insurance -- if your client is in network with Journey Clinical (or has out of network benefits) they can use this to pay for their clinical visits. Initial 60 minute visits are $250, and follow ups are $150.
